You make Rotary stronger. By adding your skills, experience, and enthusiasm to your club, you can advance communities at home and on a global scale. Together, we can eradicate polio, train more skilled peacemakers, and provide lasting solutions for communities fighting disease, hunger, illiteracy, and poverty.
Through the Rotary community, you can exchange ideas and build lifelong friendships with like-minded people. Take advantage of the resources and activities available through your club, district, and Rotary International to make your experience with Rotary both rewarding and fun.
Thank you for your interest in joining our club and the Rotary fraternity! Before you can become a member, we want to get to know you better and you also have to fulfil some criteria which determine your eligibility for membership.
Here are some things to know about membership in our club:
Membership is by invitation and NOT application. This means that, before you become a member we want to get to know you and whether you will ‘fit’ into our fraternity and whether ‘we like you’, so to speak. Only then will we extend an invitation to you for membership. Therefore, you will have to tell us more about you, then you will attend some of our meetings on a regular basis, visit our current projects and you will require a current member to propose you.
If you are interested in joining us or any other Rotary Club kindly contact and have a conversation with our President or Membership Director or send us a message on the Contact page
Prospective members must:
Hold (or be retired from) a professional, proprietary, executive, managerial, or community position
Have demonstrated a commitment to service through personal involvement
Be able to meet the club’s attendance or community project participation requirements
Live or work within the vicinity of the club or surrounding area
Members are expected to attend weekly club meetings. They must pay annual dues to their clubs (which also covers Rotary district and Rotary International affiliation fees), and they’re expected to participate in local or international Rotary club activities or projects. Clubs encourage members to aspire to club leadership or committee roles.
A member must attend or make up at least 50% of club regular meetings or satellite club meetings, or engage in club projects, other events and activities for at least 12 hours in each half of the year, or a proportionate combination of both.
In Rotary, a "makeup" refers to a way for members to fulfill their attendance requirements for a missed club meeting by participating in an alternative Rotary-related activity. This could involve attending a meeting of another Rotary club, a Rotaract or Interact meeting, a Rotary Community Corps meeting, or even participating in an online Rotary event. Essentially, it's a way to stay engaged and connected with Rotary even when you can't attend your regular club meeting.
There is no minimum age to join Rotary. You may be invited to join at any age after you become established in a career and have the time and financial resources to meet all Rotary club membership requirements. If you’re interested in joining a Rotary club, ask members about the time and financial commitments necessary to fulfill membership requirements, and consider whether you can make those commitments.
No. Rotarians have achieved a level of career experience that enables them to bring a specialization to their club, and students haven’t yet reached a level in their professional and personal lives that allows them to fulfill all aspects of Rotary club membership. But undergraduate and graduate students, as well as young adults, may become members of Rotaract clubs
